With its integrated cable conduits, the hollow sleeper enables permanent, safe cable crossings in tracks and switches, even when maintenance and straightening work is carried out by machines. The cable ducts are also elastically fixed at the end openings of the sleeper with vibration-damping rubber pads. Electrical insulation is placed between the rail baseplate and the sleeper body in order to ensure maximum safety. The correct position of the foot of the rail is ensured by the baseplate due to the fully machined top side of the sleeper.

The easily removable cover ensures optimal protection against weather and dirt. Unhindered access from the top and side make the inspection of the sleeper user-friendly. This optimum accessibility means that it can be retrofitted for existing cable crossings at any time.
